What Makes the PHI TENOR 2 Exceptional?
1. A Fresh Leap in Performance
Because the PHI TENOR 2 sits proudly in the EN-B category, it blends safety and capability more seamlessly than ever. Thanks to a refined airfoil and enhanced line architecture, it achieves impressive glide performance while maintaining solid pitch stability. Therefore, pilots can push longer distances without sacrificing reassurance.
Indeed, this wing has been meticulously engineered to climb with ease, accelerate with confidence, and retain dependable energy in demanding transitions. Accordingly, it becomes a trustworthy partner on everything from local flights to big multi-hour cross-country challenges.
PHI TENOR 2 Intelligent Technology, Intelligent Flying
2. Advanced Structural Design
The PHI development team refused to settle for average. Instead, they advanced the TENOR 2 with a refined internal structure that uses diagonal ribs, tension bands, and a carefully distributed load path. Consequently, you benefit from a smoother, more compact wing shape, even under dynamic loading.
Moreover, its aspect ratio balances efficient performance with reassuring passive safety. Because of this, the wing resists collapse while remaining easy to recover, even in active air. Therefore, your confidence is supported while your ambitions are unlocked.
3. Tuned for Progress
While the PHI TENOR 2’s performance is impressive, it never feels intimidating. Therefore, pilots moving up from an EN-A wing will feel comfortable immediately. Additionally, those with more hours under their belt will discover delightful reserves of performance to explore.
Effortless Handling, Wherever You Go
4. Precision in Every Turn
Above all, PHI understands that pilots want to fly responsively, intuitively, and without struggle. Accordingly, the TENOR 2’s brake travel, brake pressure, and wing feedback have been adjusted for a refined feel. As a result, you can carve tight thermals, adjust pitch with subtlety, and hold your line through turbulence with confidence.PHI TENOR 2
Furthermore, the wing responds quickly without feeling jumpy. Because of that, pilots can stay connected to the air and stay aware of the flow.
5. Smooth Launch Characteristics
On launch, the PHI TENOR 2 truly shines. Owing to its optimised leading-edge design, its inflation is smooth and progressive, even in light conditions. Consequently, there’s no tendency to overshoot, yet it comes up decisively and steadily overhead. As a result, stress-free takeoffs become your new normal.
PHI TENOR 2 Confidence in Real XC Conditions
6. Stable, Forgiving, and Trustworthy
Although the PHI TENOR 2 performs at a high level, it still prioritises pilot reassurance. Because of its moderate aspect ratio and stabilised cell structure, collapses are rare and recovery is swift. Therefore, when thermals get rowdy or transitions become rough, you stay in control.PHI TENOR 2
Moreover, the wing’s progressive energy retention gives you smooth landings and consistent flare authority, even after long flights. Accordingly, you will notice less pilot fatigue, which means more time in the air and more opportunities to expand your skills.
PHI TENOR 2 Built for Your Adventure
7. Ready for Vol-Biv and Travel
Because PHI values adventure, the TENOR 2 was designed with a compact pack size. While it is not classed as an ultralight wing, its build prioritises ease of storage and transport. Therefore, it remains an excellent companion for travelling pilots or anyone dreaming of vol-biv excursions.
Additionally, its robust yet light construction materials ensure longevity. Consequently, you’ll spend less time worrying about wear and more time flying.

Weight ranges
The take off weight on the scale includes pilot + equipment + wing. For normal thermal flying it is recommended to stay in the normal range. For high wind conditions, strong thermals to fly XC, the extended range offers more speed, energy and possibilities.PHI TENOR 2

TENOR 2: the sportster!
The first TENOR found many friends due to its extremely dynamic handling and its great performance in high-speed flight. It is the “Sportscar” in PHI’s wide range of products.
Phi has now carefully developed this great concept into the TENOR 2.
PHI TENOR 2 Designer’s notes
“Even the sisters SYMPHONIA 2 and TENOR 2 are still similar, the difference in the second generation is bigger. It was worth to invest some more time and effort: finally, we found the TENOR 2 to be an extremely well-balanced wing that is a lot of fun to fly and play around with.”
— Hannes Papesh, Phi Designer
PHI TENOR 2 Features
The TENOR 2 is a technically very complex wing for its class (low to mid B).
Due to the further reduction of the suspensions compared to its little sister SYMPHONIA 2, it has a lot more diagonal fingers in the interior.
Building on the technology of the SYMPHONIA 2, the sail tension of the TENOR 2 has been further optimized.
The handling adjustment and characteristic also uses the extended possibilities of the B class: this makes the TENOR 2 more sporty.

Risers
Standard: ‘Comfort ’ R01 (3 +1)
Optional: ‘Superlight’ RZ3 (3), ‘Semilight’ R04 (3+1) , ‘Superlight +’ R03 (3 +1)
You are free to customize and choose another riser free of charge but this will delay your order by 3-7 days. If saving every gram is your top priority, you may choose the “Superlight” RZ3 riser. This reduces the weight on the tech data list by around 250-285g but compromises usability and increases speed system pressure.

FAQ
How should the TENOR 2 be packed?
The rods of the TENOR 2 are quite short and not sensitive against bending. You can pack the TENOR 2 without big attention.
What is the service interval of the TENOR 2? Is a trim tuning needed?
The service interval is as usual 2 years from the first flight. Please fill in your first flight in the type table. On the base of our experience with the lines material mix, there is no trim tuning necessary: the trim does normally not change significantly.
Can the TENOR 2 be equipped with the C steering R07 riser?
Yes: you can order the TENOR 2 with the C handle R07 riser. As for all PHI wings you can chose the riser at ordering. The R07 riser is rising the demand, as it is not as easy to be sorted as a normal riser (because of the free ball bearing roll as the B riser). We are recommending the R07 only for more experienced pilots.
What is the extended weight range?
As the TENOR 2 light has a very wide safety margin, we decided to offer an extended weight range. This is offering the possibility to fly the TENOR 2 light with more wing loading, still being in the certification range. A pilot may use this option on days with strong thermals with extra ballast, for strong wind soaring or when he generally loves to fly a high loaded wing for more speed, more dynamic energy and more fun.
For normal thermal flying it is recommended to stay inside the standard weight range.
Difference between SYMPHONIA 2 and TENOR 2?
Phi: “The difference between TENOR 2 and SYMPHONIA 2 is more than with the first versions: the TENOR 2 has less lines, more diagonals, different trim settings, etc.”
