Lightweight Without Compromise
Every gram matters when you’re climbing trails or boarding planes. The PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light shaves crucial weight off your kit while retaining the structural integrity that PHI is known for. Its canopy materials, risers, and line system are all optimized for minimum mass and maximum longevity.
Additionally, packing and carrying become a breeze. Whether you’re tucking it into a lightweight harness or stuffing it into a compact daypack, this glider is as portable as they come.
Stability with Precision
Lightweight doesn’t mean twitchy. On the contrary, the SYMPHONIA 2 Light remains exceptionally stable in turbulence and active air. It provides clear, confident feedback that helps you react with intention rather than instinct.
Furthermore, brake inputs remain smooth and progressive. This makes it perfect for students learning nuanced control and for pros demanding immediate response in tight thermal cores.
Effortless Launch and Intuitive Ground Handling
Ready for Takeoff Anywhere
Launching from rocky peaks or tight forest clearings? No problem. This glider’s smart internal design ensures that the canopy rises evenly, centers easily, and stabilizes with minimal input—even in light or variable wind.
Because it’s so light, even nil-wind launches feel natural and smooth. The risers are color-coded and easy to handle, making your preflight experience quick and confident.
Ground Handling That Teaches and Rewards
Practicing kiting skills or managing the wing before launch? The SYMPHONIA 2 Light excels here, too. Its reduced inertia helps you refine technique without fatigue, while the refined brake response encourages clean, controlled movements.
Whether you’re on a school hill or a remote summit, the wing rewards attention to detail and builds your confidence every step of the way.
Soaring Efficiency Meets Sport-Class Dynamics
Performance That Surprises
Don’t let the EN-A rating fool you—the SYMPHONIA 2 Light glides with the confidence of higher-class wings. Its polar curve and line efficiency ensure you gain the most out of every thermal, ridge lift, or transition.
Because it’s lighter, you’ll often climb faster, especially in weak conditions. Plus, the glide angle allows for longer XC legs with fewer compromises on speed or energy retention.
Dynamic Yet Forgiving
Pilots seeking progression will love how this wing encourages active flying without punishing small mistakes. From thermaling to speed bar transitions, everything feels intuitive, stable, and reassuring.
Whether you’re stepping up from your first flights or downsizing from a bulkier model, this wing delivers joyful, controlled performance in every phase of flight.
Inclusive Design with Tailored Fit
Sizes for Every Pilot
Available in sizes from XXS to XL, the PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light embraces the full range of pilot profiles. Regardless of your weight or build, you’ll find a size that performs just as safely and predictably as any other.
Weight ranges from 50 to 130+ kg mean no one is excluded. Everyone gets the same PHI-quality experience.
Customizable Loading Options
Fly it light for a more relaxed ride, or load toward the upper end for increased energy and agility. Thanks to its wide certified loading range, the SYMPHONIA 2 Light adjusts to your mission—whether that’s floating over meadows or pushing mild XC distances.
Ideal for Travel, Adventure, and Everyday Use
Perfect for Hike-and-Fly
If you’re chasing takeoffs in the mountains or carrying your kit for hours, the SYMPHONIA 2 Light is your trusted partner. It compresses easily, weighs minimally, and performs confidently—even in thin alpine air.
Moreover, its light weight reduces fatigue, letting you focus on the beauty of the adventure—not the burden of the gear.

PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light: the revolution gets ultralight!
Around 4.5 years ago we introduced a funny striped A class wing that cost as much as a High B glider. We then also communicated that this wing offers high B performance!
-many competitors laughed at us at the beginning, but now they begin to understand:
Not only have we created a new class with the SYMPHONIA and finally established the A class as the “standard class”. “Super High A” is now in fashion! Thanks to this unique wing and its children, we have also established ourselves on the market in a very short time.
-and no one is surprised any more that there are more and more funny striped wings around!
Thank you, SYMPHONIA!
Now it’s time to top it up!
-and it will be even more colourful!
-and now also available in an ultralight version!
Please welcome the SYMPHONIA 2 light!
Designer’s notes
“The light version of the SYMPHONIA was awaited by many. Many pilots were asking for it. Finally we followed the wishes and did it. Now we are very satisfied with the result (and the even more colorful color layout).”
— Hannes Papesh, Phi Designer

Materials
Porcher 27 double coated
Risers
Standard: ‘Semilight’ R04 (3+1)
Optional: ‘Superlight’ RZ1 : this is reducing the weight on the tech date list by 285g! , ‘Superlight +’ R03 (3 +1), ‘Semlight C Handle’ R07 (3+1)
You are free to customize and choose another riser free of charge but this will delay your order by 3-7 days. If saving every gram is your top priority, you may choose the “Superlight” RZ3 riser. This reduces the weight on the tech data list by around 250-285g but compromises usability and increases speed system pressure.PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light

PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light FAQ
Can the SYMPHONIA 2 be used for basic schooling?
As the SYMPHONIA 2 is an A wing, it could be used for basic schooling, but it needs more time and attention from the teacher. The student has to learn to manage the performance and the high agility. We recommend to use the FANTASIA, SOLA, SONATA for the training hill. The SYMPHONIA 2 would in that relation be the 4th step. Only very talented students should be on a SYMPHONIA 2 for their first flights. Better to strep up to the SYMPHONIA 2 after some more experience.
The A class is just now establishing as the NEW STANDARD CLASS. So not only be used for schooling. It is recommended for a major group of pilots to stay in the A class for the rest of their flying career, as the PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light sets no limits.
How should the SYMPHONIA 2 be packed?
The rods of the SYMPHONIA 2 are quite short and not sensitive against bending. You can pack the SYMPHONIA 2 without big attention.
What is the service interval of the PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light? Is a trim tuning needed?
The service interval is as usual 2 years from the first flight. Please fill in your first flight in the type table. On the base of our experience with the lines material mix, there is no trim tuning necessary: the trim does normally not change significantly.
Can the PHI SYMPHONIA 2 Light be equipped with the C steering R07 riser?
Yes: you can order the SYMPHONIA 2 with the C handle R07 riser. As for all PHI wings you can chose the riser at ordering. The R07 riser is rising the demand, as it is not as easy to be sorted as a normal riser (because of the free ball bearing roll as the B riser). We are recommending the R07 only for more experienced pilots.
