Redefining Sport Class: Performance Meets Accessibility
The PHI MAESTRO 3 is a testament to PHI’s design philosophy — building a wing that rewards skilled pilots yet stays forgiving when things get demanding. Unlike overly aggressive sport-class wings, the Maestro 3 balances outstanding glide and climb performance with accessible handling characteristics. As soon as you inflate this beauty, you will notice its composed yet agile demeanor. Furthermore, it offers the kind of precise, progressive brake feel that pilots crave for active air — a quality that inspires trust and expands your flying envelope.

PHI MAESTRO 3 Intuitive Launch and Landing: Stress-Free Takeoffs, Smooth Touchdowns
Nothing undermines a perfect flight more than a stressful launch. That’s why the PHI MAESTRO 3 was designed to make inflations a breeze. The wing rises steadily, with no tendency to overshoot or hang back, even in gusty conditions. Consequently, pilots can focus on their surroundings instead of constantly correcting the wing. Once airborne, the Maestro 3 continues its pilot-friendly behavior, responding predictably to brake inputs while maintaining a secure, composed pitch.
When it’s time to come home, you’ll appreciate the Maestro 3’s forgiving flare range. Landing becomes almost artistic thanks to its precise energy retention and forgiving stall characteristics. As a result, you can touch down softly and safely every single time.
PHI MAESTRO 3 Sophisticated Technology: Innovation That Works
Let’s talk technology. The PHI MAESTRO 3 is more than just a pretty wing. PHI’s design team has infused it with advanced engineering elements drawn from years of R&D:
-
Optimized internal structure: Carefully calculated diagonal ribs and tension straps increase overall structural integrity while preserving lightness.
-
Double 3D shaping: Reduces wrinkles and improves leading-edge aerodynamics, making the wing more efficient.
-
Mini-ribs: Provide a clean, sharp trailing edge for smoother airflow and less drag.
-
Optimized line plan: Simplified yet robust, reducing drag while improving launch characteristics.
-
Precise profile evolution: Delivers perfect pitch stability while maximizing energy retention in dynamic maneuvers.
Because these technologies work in synergy, the Maestro 3 achieves a remarkable balance of climb, glide, and responsive handling, while keeping overall pilot workload manageable. Thus, you can focus on your decision-making and enjoying the flight.
Comfort Meets Agility: Confidence in All Air
One of the Maestro 3’s greatest achievements lies in how naturally it adapts to variable conditions. In calm air, it feels smooth, direct, and playful. When the air becomes active, it transforms into a tool of precision, providing nuanced feedback that helps you anticipate turbulence rather than react to it. It communicates clearly without overwhelming you with unnecessary movements, which in turn builds your confidence.
Every element of the PHI MAESTRO 3 is crafted to keep you connected yet protected. Transitioning from thermals to glide lines feels effortless. Shifting from ridge soaring to cross-country transitions becomes second nature. This harmony empowers you to push your limits, explore new routes, and pursue higher goals.

No two pilots are exactly alike, which is why PHI offers the Maestro 3 in a thoughtfully engineered size range. Regardless of your weight, there’s a perfectly tuned model that will match your flying style. Furthermore, each size maintains the same performance and safety philosophy across the lineup. That means you can confidently step into the Maestro 3 family, knowing every size shares the same incredible DNA.

PHI MAESTRO 3 : THE NEXT STEP!
The MAESTRO 3 stands in a line of legendary high B wings. With those wings, the high B has be invented once and was constantly defined over many years.
Here is the next step: better, more relaxed, more balanced, safer, easier to fly and more performant than all it’s predecessors.
PHI MAESTRO 3 Designer’s notes
Even during a long and successful career as a designer, it is not often that you are sure that your latest new creation will be an incredible success.
With the MAESTRO 3 there is no doubt. -Forget the usual clichés: new benchmark, better than ever, more performance, more safety, better handling, etc.! -Just try it!
You’ll be amazed! Thanks to the test pilots Alex Höllwarth, Benni Hörburger and Rene Pfister for their work!

PHI MAESTRO 3 Features
The MAESTRO 3 has a touch more aspect ratio, a different profile, different rods (Nitinol with padding), a slightly different rigging, different straps, canopy tension, mini ribs etc. It performs better, flies a little nicer, is even more stable and has much better, smoother handling.
Overall it feels much more relaxed and is safer than the MAESTRO 2. Pilots flying the MAESTRO 3 report the 3rd generation being more stable, easier, better climbing, better handling and better performance and faster in max speed.
To reach an wider target group, the MAESTRO 3 has normal length riser and more covered lines.Except stabilo all lines down to the carabiners are covered!
PHI MAESTRO 3 Nose padding
The new Neoprene padding on the leading edge distributes the pressure of the Nitinol rods over a larger area and makes the wing nose significantly more robust against abrasion.
Nitinol in general is offering very easy packing and low stress by being very form stable.
Because of the superb form stability of Nitinol and the optimised 3 section 3D shaping, the lift section of the MAESTRO 3 airfoil is super smooth.
Materials
Skytex 32 / 27 double coated
Risers
The MAESTRO 3 has the R14 riser as the standard riser. It is offering “floating B” with C handle steering. In contrast to the R07, it has the standard length of 540mm.
You can mount a hard Carbon handle or grab the soft Neoprene handle: as you like.nAs usual you can choose the riser at ordering without extra price.
Standard: R014 (3+1)
Optional: ‘”Semlight C Handle” R07, ‘Semilight’ R04 (3+1) , ‘Superlight +’ R03 (3 +1)
You are free to customize and choose another riser free of charge but this will delay your order by 3-7 days. If saving every gram is your top priority, you may choose the “Superlight” RZ3 riser. This reduces the weight on the tech data list by around 250-285g but compromises usability and increases speed system pressure.
