AirDesign SuSi XPed – Redefine What’s Possible in Hike-and-Fly Adventures
Lightweight Precision, Adventure-Ready Design, and Limitless Possibility
Experience true mountain freedom with the AirDesign SuSi XPed—an ultralight glider crafted for pilots who thrive on bold journeys, remote landscapes, and precise performance. Whether you’re ascending ridgelines before sunrise or crossing alpine valleys during a multi-day vol-biv, this wing isn’t just your equipment—it’s your gateway to more meaningful flying.
Because every gram counts, and every moment in the sky matters, the AirDesign SuSi XPed is more than just a lightweight wing. Instead, it’s a finely tuned machine built to serve your ambition without compromise.
Built for Real Terrain—And Real Pilots
AirDesign SuSi XPed Control, Reliability, and Simplicity Shouldn’t Be Mutually Exclusive
While many ultralight gliders force pilots to choose between weight savings and control, the AirDesign SuSi XPed eliminates that trade-off entirely. Consequently, it delivers ultra-precise handling, solid passive safety, and smooth energy retention—all within a structure that weighs as little as 2.3 kg.
Furthermore, it’s designed to rise cleanly and stay centered, even when conditions are light, gusty, or off-angle. Unlike many wings in the ultralight category, the SuSi XPed thrives in variable terrain—therefore making it ideal for the realities of backcountry flight.
In addition, AirDesign has built this glider with inclusivity in mind. It accommodates a wide range of pilot weights and skill levels while offering sizing options from 14 m² to 26 m². As a result, everyone from weekend wanderers to seasoned vol-biv nomads will find a version of the AirDesign SuSi XPed that feels like home.
Featherlight Without Fragility
AirDesign SuSi XPed Material Science Meets Mountain Performance
Not only is the AirDesign SuSi XPed incredibly light, but it also proves that “light” doesn’t have to mean “delicate.” Thanks to expert material selection—including Porcher Skytex fabric and Dyneema risers—this glider balances strength, performance, and longevity.
Because alpine flying often includes abrasion, friction, and surprise weather shifts, durability isn’t optional—it’s essential. Thus, this wing features reinforced stitching, robust line layouts, and smart load distribution. Together, these design elements ensure that your gear is as committed to the adventure as you are.AirDesign SuSi XPed

Speed chart (Trimspeed)
How to choose your size – using the speed-chart AirDesign SuSi XPed
Simply, put in your Takeoff-weight – then the chart shows you at which speed each size is flying!
NOTE: in general, a trim-speed of around 37 km/h is said to be a standard speed for any paraglider – this speed balances all glider behaviours and pilot demands best.
Loading up the wing will increase the glider’s trim speed. This requires high pilot skills for launching and landing.
If you are in the fields indicated in grey, you are below the certified range (still covered within EN-926-1)
If you are looking for a kind of intermediate style – like having best combination of speed and take-off simplicity – then choose your size within the light green indicated fields.
Dark green indication shows already advanced trim-speeds which are giving more agility, dynamic and speed in a controlled manner.
Loading the wing up (in red and dark red) the gliders trim-speed will get faster – at the max-top loading even like a speed flyer! You should have the appropriate experience and skills.

AirDesign SuSi XPed – #lightgearjunkie
SuSi is back. Back to its original roots: an all-round glider, light and fun.
The SuSi XPed is the first product from the Expedition series (XPed) to be introduced.
Since the SuSi has its name and created its own class of gliders, the name XPed calls itself for being the lightest and toughest equipment for the most extreme and remote adventures.
Weighing in at just 1.62 kg and designed for exploration, the SuSi XPed is also featuring an elevated sense of enjoyment. After all, that’s what it’s all about.
Feel. Explore. And enjoy!
Designer’s notes
By making the SuSi lighter and much faster while keeping its DNA, we allow the pilots to go much further in all their projects. This is why we chose the claim “Ready to explore” and the hashtag #lightgearjunkie. The SuSi XPed will already give you the smile while you get ready for your next expedition. Just go for it!
